REA CAPITAL BUILDING CONTINUES BRISK Permits Approved Total $731,620, Largest Num- ber for Week in Year. Building in the Capital continued ot & brisk pace duri.g the past week as the office of Building Inspector John W. Oehmann approved permits for $731,620 in all types of construc- tion. The feature of the week in building was the issuance of permits for the erection of 61 single-family dwellings, the largest number to be approved in a similar period this year. In addi- tion, a dozen small apartments were included in the list of permits. A total of 130 permits was granted for new building, additions, alterations and repairs during the period. Largest permit of the week was is- sued to the District for erection of an addition to the Charles Young School at Twenty-fourth and H streets north- east to cost $106,000. John W. Hunt, Chandler Building, was listed as con- tractor. Largest Private Permit. ‘The largest private permit went to Cooley Bros, Tower Building, for erection of a group of eight homes in the 2200 block of Thirty-ninth place, to cost $48,000. George T. Santmyers has been named architect for this project Reliable Construction Co., 1240 Morse street northeast, obtained a permit to build six dwellings in the 5200 block of Second street at a cost of $40,000. Joseph G. Herbert was named architect. W. R. Mathis, 3224 Morrison street, secured the right to build four apartments in the 4000 block of Seventh street northeast.
