KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HONOR NEW MEMBERS Officials of the Knights of Columbus of Washington and Maryland will honor 53 new members of Washington Council at a banquet tonight at 7 o'clock at the Willard Hotel. Alfred A. McGarraghy, grand knight of the council, will preside. Speakers will be the Rev. Aloysius J. Burggrafl, chaplain; Dr. John Bowen, advocate, and Harold F. Jones, past grand knight, in whose honor the class of new members has been named. The new members will receive the third degree of the order at the club house, 918 Tenth street, at 3 p.m. today. One hundred undreprivileged chil- dren from the Children’s Emergency Home of the Central Union Mission | were entertained last night at the | Marjorie Webster School by 75 students | of the school and 25 members of Miss Webster’s Sunday school class at |the New York Avenue Presbyterian | Church. | There was a large yule tree, hung with gifts of warm clothing, toys, fruit and candy for the children from the home. Each student at the school and each member of the Sunday school class spent $10 buying gifts for a child, whose name and age were given her by Mrs. John 8. Bennett, director of the home. An orchestra was on hand to pro- vide music for caral singing and a light buffet lunch was served the guests.
