The school situation will be given particular attention, including the '] | question of reduced fares for school ] | children using busses in Maryland; study of the proposed site near Mont- gomery Hills for the new junior high school and the desirability of having Maryland school children placed on a parity as those from the District of Columbia in accrediting their work. Karl Jarrell, chairman of the Com- mittee on Streets and Parkways, was directed to make a study of the pro- posed tax which is to be used for park development in the metropolitan area. A report with recommendations will be given at a meeting of the as- sociation November 13. Jarrell also was instructed to in- vestigate the present plan to rezone Sixteenth street. Reduction in telephone rates in the community will also be pushed. The building of a sidewalk on the east side of Georgia avenue from the Coles- ville Pike toward Maple lane was ad- vocated by the group. Other planned lcuvltlu include an intensive membership drive and the holding of three teas, the first of which will be November 24 at the home of Mrs. Arthur Blakeslee. M. K. AUSTIN, Tex, October 31 (#).— Howard Pierson, young slayer of his parents, entered a State hospital for the insane here yesterday. A jury verdict he is insane, returned last Saturday, postponed indefinitely trial on charges he murdered his par- ents, William Pierson, justice of the Supreme Court, and Mrs. Plerson. The defense claimed he was suffer- ing from a paranoid type of dementia praecox, from which, mental experts testified, victims seldom recover. BOYS TO TAKE COURSE IN HOME ECONOMICS Dr. J. R.
