Such shares as American Gas & Electric, Bunker Hill & Sullivan and Niagara Hudson Power were up frac- tions to 3 points. NEW YORK, October 23.—The As- sociated Press adjusted weekly index of electric power production declined 0.4 of 1 per centage point last week to 101.2, when output declined contra- seasonally. A factor in the decline may have been the warm weather. For the previous week the index stood at 101.6 and a year ago it was 93.9. The index, based on 1929-30 as 100, is adjusted for seasonal and long- term trends. The range of recent years follows: High 1023 974 91.9 Low . 941 919 802 The Edison Electric Institute re- ported that power output for the week ended October 19 totaled 1,863,- 086,000 kilowatt hours, a decline of 0.2 of 1 per cent from the previous week. This week's drop follows two successive weeks in which all-time record highs were scored. The week's gain over the cor- responding week of 1934 amounted to 11.7 per cent, compared with a gain of 12.7 per cent shown in the previous week over the like week a year ago. All major geographic regions scored gains over” the corresponding week of 1934.
