Hege, president of the Chevy Chase Citizens' Association, who | bas taken &an active part in uraffic problems of the District, gave a short talk on transportation conditions s | affected by the recent substitution of busses for street cars on Connecticut svenue, Hege stated that while many of the present rough spots in bus transpor- 1ation should be ironed out, some of the present confusion on the part of passengers was undoubtedly caused by & lack of foresight in planning the new bus schedules. Specifically, he pointed out the confusion that has resulted from the numbers placed on the front of the busses. Few, if any. of the passengers, he said, know what youtes the numbers indicate. In ad- dition, he said. passengers are often unable to distinguish between local #nd express busses and where the ex- press stops are located.
