“B-% SGNEDFORRADID Celebrated Actor to Be Starred in Drama Series Starting October 6. ESLIE HOWARD, one of the most romantic and brilliant figures on the modern stage and screen, has been signed for his first radio series. ‘The celebrated actor, equally re- nowned in the films and on the stages of Broadway and London, will be etarred in a weekly half-hour of drama to be heard over the Nation- wide Columbia network each Sunday, beginning October 6. The signing of Howard, one of the biggest names to be added to an al- ready brilliant roster of new Fall shows, is generally regarded as a significant coup de main in the radio production fleld. Howard's exact vehicle and type of drama has not been determined, but it is expected that he will be cast in a typical Howard role of romance and adventure, such as has won him a tre- mendous following both here and abroad and which, in a short span of years, catapulted him from compara- tive obscurity on Broadway to high prestige in drama today.
