Killed in a fall downstairs at a party celebrating his 77th birthday, the body of Edward B. Farren, presi- dent of the West End Laundry, 1723 Pennsylvania avenue, was brought to ‘Washington today for burial, ‘The tragic denouement to the happy occasion occurred last night at a Bay Head, N. J, hotel, where Farren, Mrs, Farren, their son, Edward E. Farren of Chevy Chase, and their daughter, Mrs. George Groves, were spending the Labor day holiday. Puneral services will be held some time this week from the Farren home, 1505 Delafield street. Mr, Farren, who had been the pic- ture of health during the day, was féund unconscious by & hotel employe at the foot of the rear stairs of the Ocean View Hotel. He was rushed to Beach Burroughs Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His injuries included two frac- | tured legs, a fractured arm, a frac- tured nose and internal injuries. Mr. Farren founded the West End Laundry, which now has six branches throughout the city, 35 years ago.
