FINANCIAL. CORPIRATE BONDS REMAN STEAD Small Gains Well Scattered Among Rails, Utilities and Industrials. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, July 26.—The cor- porate hond market retained its steady | 3 appearance to the close today, with gains of usually less than a point well distributed among active rails, utilities and industrials loans. United States Governments were steady, but extremely quiet. Among domestic corporate bonds ending in the plus column were Beth- lehem Steel refunding 5s, up 3% at 111%; Remington Rand 5%s, up % at 104Y4; Columbia Gas 55, up % at 91'2, and Atlantic Coast Line 4}5s, up % at 74%. Member bank reserve balances con- tinued to mount during the week end- ed July .24, the weekly condition statement of the Reserve banks showed, an increase of $21,000,000 during the week bringing the total 0, $4.945,000,000. This total is $925,- 000,000 more than at this time last year and at least $2,500,000,000 in excess of legal requirements. Money in circulation decreased $34,- 000,000 during the week and Treasury cash and deposits with Federal Re- serve banks came to $48,000,000. The monetary gold stock of the country was augmented by $8,000,000, bringing the total to $9,135,000,000. The condition statement said: “The daily average volume of Fed- eral Reserve bank' credit outstanding during the week ended July 24, as reported by the Federal Reserve banks, was $2,467,000,000, a decrease of $11,000,000 compared with the pre- ceding week and an increase of $6.- 000,000 compared with the correspond- ing week in 1934. ‘On July 24 total Reserve bank credit amounted to $2,460,000,000, a decrease of $12,000,000 for the week. This decrease corresponds with de- creases of $34,000,000 in money in cir- culation and $37,000,000 in non- member deposits and other Federal | Reserve accounts and increases of $8,000,000 in monetary gold stock and $2,000,000 in Treasury and national bank currency, offset in part by in- creases of $48,000,000 in Treasury cash and deposits with Federal Re- serve banks and $21,000,000 in mem- ber bank reserve balances. Pictures, Inc., and subsidiaries reported today a net profit of $371,591, after all charges, for the 39 weeks loss of $528,836 for the corresponding period of 1934, FREIGHT LOADINGS 593,366 Total for Week Remains 22,674 Below NMark Year Ago. By the Associated Press. The Association of American Rail- roads announced today loadings of revenue freight for the week ended July 20 amounted to 593,366 cars, an increase of 26,878 over the preceding week, but 22,674 below 1934 and 63,014 below 1933. Miscellaneous freight totaled 236,- 319, an increase of 2,932, and 9,082 above 1934, but a decrease of 1218 from 1933. Less than carload lots amounted to 157,345, an increase of 5,284, but 1,291 below 1934 and 14,674 below 1933. Coal amounted to 89,742, an in- crease of 14,259, but 7,971 below 1934 and 28,508 below 1933, Grain and grain products totaled 33,379, an increase of 4,101, but 13,792 below 1934 and 15,805 below 1933. In the Western districts grain and grain products totaled 21,275, a de-| crease of 7,013 from 1934. Live stock amounted to 10,165, a decrease of 882, 16,049 below 1934 and 5,498 below 1933. In the Western districts live stock totaled 7,157, a | decrease of 15,448 below 1934. Forest products totaled 28416, an increase of 1,792 and 6,345 above 1934, but 790 below 1933.
