A—6 wx¥ HUTTON HEIRESS WILL WED TODAY Princess Barbara to Annex| Title of Countess—Former Fiance at Party. By the Associated Press. RENO, Nev, May 14.—The title of | countess by marriage awaited Bar- | bara Hutton today, 24 hours after she had discarded another royal title by a divorce from Prince Alexis Mdivani. ‘The wedding of the Woolworth dime store heiress and the Danish | count, Kurt Haugwitz-Reventlow, was set for today, James Blakeley, a friend | of the Hutton family, disclosed. Blake- lev, & young socialite formerly of New York, was a fiance of Barbara before | she married the Georgian prince. ‘The understanding was the cere- | mony would be held at 11 am. (2] pm. Blakeley, now an actor in Holly- wood, arrived here yesterday and at- tended a dinner party last night at a | Reno night club to wish Barbara and | her intended husband the “best of | luck” He called on the princess | shortly after she first came to Reno | and said then he was “just a very | close friend.” Broke Seclusion Rule. The glamorous Barbara, who cast aside her play-boy prince in a 10- minute divorce trial yesterday, and | the handsome Danish count danced | together at the gay night club party. Appearance of the $40.000,000 heiress took Reno by surprise, for she had consistently remained in seclusion since she took up residence here to | qualify for her pl\orce from Prince | Alexis. | In her party also were Franklyn L. Hutton, her father; Mrs. Hutton, her stepmother: former District Judge and Mrs. George A. Bartlett, and her at- torneys, George B. Thatcher of Reno and Millard Tompkins, jr., New York. Count Haugwitz-Reventlow, who has persistently denied he intended to marry the princess since his recent arrival from Europe and that he would come here to visit her despite increas- ing reports of their romance, arrived in Reno yesterday afternoon. He was reported to have been met at Vardi, | Nev., west of here, by Thatcher A reliable source said the count planned to take Barbara back to Eu- Tope after their marriage. A warning against centralizing cur- rency control in the Federal Reserve Board without advice of the regional governors was given the Senate Bank- ing Committee today by Francis M. Law, former president of the Ameri- can Bankers’ Assoclation. He was joined in his criticism of | the omnibus banking bill by Henry H. Heimann of New York, executive manager of the National Association | of Credit Men, who declared 75 per | cent of the 18,000 members of his or- | ganization had expressed opposition to | the legislation. Urging a revision of the section of the House bill which gave reglonal governors only advisory authority in open market operations, Law declared these advisors “will have no real au- thority and I am convinced that they should have real authority.” | He recalled that the present law | puts supervision of open market op- | erations in the hands of a commit- tee directed by the regional governors. | These governors, he declared, had a | closer contact with the pulse of the | Nation's business than the Federal Reserve Board, spending most of its | time in Washington.
