& - APPSO, o 0 FIN CURB PRICES OFF + AT SESSION'S END Substantial Gains bes\royed i and Numerous Losses Are Recorded. Bpecial Dispatch to The Sta NEW YORK, June 20.—Prices turned downward in the late trading on the Curb Exchange today, wiping out some substantial gains made early in the session and closing the list with numer- ous net losses. Declines were not large and the re- action was to be expected following Monday's brisk advance. Some short selling undoubtedly combined with profit-taking to force prices lower. Electric Bond & ' Share, which, as usual, set the pace for the market, was down 3 points at 35% near the close after having pushed aliead a point shortly after the opening. Other util- ities also yielded to the pressure, though' many of the losses were confined to fractions. Citles Service pointed higher until the final hour, when it eased frac- tionally, Petroleum shares resisted the selling better than most other groups as they ‘were under the stimulus of further ad- vances in crude and gasoline prices an- nounced today. - The agricultural share list, including the packing issues, also showed firmness. New Jersey Zinc stood out strongly in the mine list, reaching a new high for the year at 517, up 1%. Roan Antelope Copper was up a point at 19. Gold stocks were active, but unable to make much progress. (Copyright, 1933.) — e BONDS ON THE CURB MARKE' 'DOMESTIC BONDS. $housands. High. Low. INDIANAPOLIS, June 20.—Return- ing to his home State, Senator Arthur R. Robinson, the only Republican rep- resenting Indiana in Washngton, has mapped out a campaign for renomina- tion and re-election to the Senate in the 1934 election. ‘The Senator said he will continue, in speeches throughout the State, his at- tacks on parts of the Roosevelt admin- istration program approved by Con- gress. The economy act giving the Presi- dent power to reduce veterans' compen- sation Robinson termed “cruel, unfair and utterly indefensible.” He said he regarded it as a plot of international bankers and the rich to “balance the budget with the nickels of the poor.” Robinson said he also will continue his attacks on the administration for its participation in international affairs, and will protest against any reduction or cancellation of intergovernmental | debts. He will tell his Hoosier constituents. the Senator said, that_the President should remove William Woodin, Secre- | ‘tary of the Treasury, and Norman H. Davis, representing Roosevelt at the London Economic Conference, for the appesarance of their names on preferred customers’ lists of J. P. Morgan & Co., revealed at Senate committee hearings. One thing he will not discuss, Robin- son, said, and that is prohibition, on which he has been a frequent speaker in the past. Cool Weather Slows Trade.
