THE PULITZER PRIZE IN JOURNALISM again is awarded to a Scripps-Howard Newspaper The New York World-T. elegram has been awarded the Pulitzer gold medal for “the most disinterested and meritorious public service rendered by an American newspaper during 1932.” This medal is annually awarded to some newspaper under the will of Joseph Pulitzer. In 1928 it was won by the Scripps-Howard Indianapolis Times. Other awards in the 1933 distribution of journalistic honors under the Pulitzer bequest include the $500 prize for the “best cartoon” of the year to H. M. Talburt of the Scripps-Howard newspapers . . . and an honorable mention to Carl Randau, World-T. elegram reporter. “America’s Nearest Approach to a Nobel Prize” The Pulitzer Committee’s Gold tant journalism has waned.
