Methods of teaching lip reading to adults with defective hearing will be demonstrated at headquarters of the Washington League for Hard of Hear- ing, 1116 Vermont avenue, at 8 o'clock tonight as a feature of National Hear- ing week, which is being observed this week by more than 100 similar or- ganizations in all parts of the country. A collection of hearing aids will be on exhibition for demonstration pur- poses at the club house all week, although none of the devices will be! sold. It was pointed out that many persons with impaired hearing will be glad to avail themselves of an oppor- tunity to visit a demonstration where | no obligation to purchase is implied. Employe Finds Counterfeit Coin In His Pay Envelope NATIONAL PARLEY OPENS THURSDAY Vocatlonal Training in the Light of Current Problems to Be Studied. Uncle Sam got caught passing along some counterfeit money last Friday. He was almost certain to be caught, for the spurious coin was slipped into a pay envelope at the Bureau of Standards, where they can detect adulterations of one or two parts In a million. The specific case was a 50-cent plece found in the pay envelope of R. W. Crouch, jr. Crouch de- tected it almost immediately and reported it to the pay office. As soon as word spread of the detection all the bureau employes began weighing and otherwise testing the coins in their pay en- velopes, but no other counterfeit was found, Vocational training in the light of current problems will be considered by Government officials and educational and industrial leaders at a national conference at the Willard Hotel be- ginning Thursday.
