Brown, 62, linguist, student of Sanskrit and Hindu and a former missionary to India, died y terday at his home. He had been suffering from a heart ailment four days. Dr. Brown was head of the India department and lecturer on phonetics at the Kennedy School of Missions, Hartford Seminary Foundation. Born in Baltimore, he graduated from Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio, in 1897, and took a master of arts degree from Johns Hopkins in 1910. He was at one time on the faculty of Transylvania College, Lexington, Ky., and was dean of the College of Missions, Indianapolis. | He is survived by his widow, Mrs. | virginia Brown: a son, Dr. W.
