By the Associated Press. The State Department has communi- cated to American consular officials in Europe a demand by the Woman Pa- triots’ Corporation that Albert Einstein, famed scientist, be barred from this country. The protest, sent to the department several days ago by Mrs. Randolph Frothingham of Brookline, Mass., pres- ident of the omnlzltlon said Einstein is a member of “several Communist or- ganizations under Moscow manage- ment.” The action taken by the State De- partment, it was explained, was to familiarize American consuls abroad with the accusations lodged against the German professor for. their own infor- maticn in event he should apply at any of the consular offices in Europe for a visa. State Department officials said this was the customary procedure in a case of this kind and that the responsibility of granting a visa under the immigra- tion laws rests entirely with the Amer- ican consular officials themselves.
