Would you pull down the shade to shut out the pitiful sight, or would you...but it’s foolish to ask. You'd bring him in and give him part of your own dinner, all of it, if he could hold it. Well there IS a hungry youngster, not actually on your porch, but huddled by a cold stove in some dilapidated room, who needs part of the dinner to which you are about to sit down. There are thousands of them, shivering on Washington’s front porch tonight. You can’t find them, but the Community Chest can. You can’t take them part or all of your dinner, but a few cents less expended on your meal, a less expensive cut of meat, perhaps one vegetable less and a simpler dessert, will feed not one but several of those pathetic, shivering youngsters. You can’t do it, but the Community Chest, with the help of your few pennies a day, can....and will.
