She was the daughter of Dr. Rlchll‘d Cary Ambler and Mrs. Susan Ambler. A brother, Dr. James Markham Ambler, U. 8. N., lost his life while in the Arctic with the Greely expedition in 1871. A memorial tablet was unveiled to his memory near the family home, in Fauquier County, last October, on the fiftieth anniversary. Miss Ambler had been a Wi resident for & number of years. She was & member and founder of the Club of Colonial Dames here and was a member of the Church of the Epiphany. During the rectorship of Dr. Randolph Harrison McKim she was active in the church's affairs. During the World War she interested herself in local and national philan- thropic and charity work and her activ- ities dusing the ensuing influenza epi- demic were widespread. She is survived by a brother, Edward Ambler of Fauquler County, and =2 number of nleces and nephews. An- other brother, Cary Ambler, died sev- eral years ago.
