‘C—4 * RALPH DE PALMA ONWRC TONIGHT WMAL Will Broadcast Cam- paign Speech of Roose- velt at Portland. WMAL Talph De Palma, famous racing driver, who recently broke three world speed records at Lake Muroc, Calif., will describe some of his thrilling ex- periences during the program to be broadcast from 8:30 to 9 o'clock tonight over WRC and a network of other N. B ©. stations As a special feature of the program there will be a dramatization of De | Palma’s last race, in which he com- pleted 800 miles of driving in the record time of 7 hours, 6 minutes and 36 sec- onds. The musical portion of this pro- gram will be presented by Gladys Rice, soprano: the Men Abaut Town Trio and Nathaniel Shilkret's Orchestra. Virginia Rea Numbers. Virginia Rea, soprano. soloist on the program from 8 to 8:30, has selected “will You Remember?” as her featured number. She also will sing “Tales From the Vienna Woods,” by Strauss, and “Comin’ Through the Rye.” The Re- velers' Quartet also will be heard on this program in a spiritual and Jones' “If You Were Oniy Mine.' In response to numerous requests. a selcction of old favorites will be repeated on the Corn Cob Pipe program. Two spirituals are on this program. Nellie Revell will interview Lord (Seth Parker) in her gram at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Parker (Lizzie Peters) also will take part in this broadcast. Senator Vandenberg of Michigan is announced as the speaker in the pro- gram to be presented by the Republican National Committee. Twenty-four N. B. C. stations will handle this address. Roosevelt to Broadcast. WMAL and other Columbia stations will broadcast the campaign speech of Gov. Roosevelt of New York to be made tonight at Portland, Oreg.
