PITTSBURGH MAN HELD IN WINCHESTER ROBBERY Police Report They Caught Him in Act of Stealing 50,000 Cigarettes From Grocery Warehouse, Special Dispatch to The Star. ‘WINCHESTER, Va., June 30.—A well dressed young man giving the name of John Booth, Pittsburgh, Pa., was being held today for court, after being caught by police, they said, in the act of run- ning away from the warehouse of the Winchester Wholesale Grocery Co., which they said he had robbed of about 50,000 cigarettes last night. Police, nottfied that the place had been robbed only recently, held an all- night vigil and saw Booth emerging as) daylight broke, they reported. They also seized his automobile, parked nearby. The cigarettes had been stacked on a platform, ready for loading. Booth denied having been implicated in other robberies here.
