G. E. TALBOTT DIES Lifelong Resident of District Suf- fers Heart Attack. George E. Talbott, 47, a lifelong resl- dent of the District, died suddenly early today at his home, 714 Madison street, after a heart attack. Mr. Talbott, who was in the interior decorating business, was a son of the late Harry E. and Mary I Talbott of this city. Funeral services will be held Thursday. Miss Cora Larrimore 'Keeley, an active member of the District bar and one of the Capital's best known women attorneys, died early today after a long iliness. Miss Keeley, who had been confined to George Washington University Hospital for about two weeks, had been ailing for several years. Miss Keeley, who was born in Lar- rimore, S. Dak., had been a resident of this city since 1907. She attended public schools here, and graduated from Business High School. In 1918 she re- ceived the degree of bachelor of laws from Washington College of Law, and in 1919 was given a master's degree from the same school. She was admitted to the District bar and the District Supreme Court in 1918, and to the Supreme Court of the United States in 1921. She has main- tained her own offices in the Woodward Building since 1920. She was a member of the American Bar Association, Women's Bar Associa- tion of the District of Columbia, Areme Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Kappa Beta Pi International Legal Sorority. which she served as registrar in 1920 and 1921, and dean in 1922; the Ameri- can Association of University Women, Women's City Club, Zonta Club and other organizations. She devoted much time to women's interests, and the women's organizations of which she was a member. She jis survived by her father, Rev. Dr. Hiram W. Austin. 82, one of the early officers of the United States Pub- lic Health Service, died yesterday at his home, 2700 Connecticut avenue. He had been retired from active duty for about 11 years. Funeral services will be held tomor- Tow at 2 p.m. at his home, followed by Interment in Congressional Cemetery. A native of Canfield, Ohlo, Dr. Aus- tin became connected with the Public Health Service in February, 1876. A prominent operating s , he his service with the Public Health group in a hospital at Evansville, Ind., and worked there through an epidemic of yellow fever. Later he went to Key West, Fla., where he worked during an- other such epidemic. Other Public Health posts he held were in New Or- leans, Cincinnati, Chicago, Boston, Phil- adelphia, Detroit, New York, San Fran- cisco and Louisville. In the late eighties Dr. Austin, then stationed at Boston, aided in the pre- vention of smallpox along the Cana- dian border at a time when the Domin- ion was having an epidemic. He served in an administrative capacity in Wash- ington from 1890 to 1895, and aided in drafting the quarantine act of 1893, when Europeans were suffering from & cholera plague. Since his retirement in 1921 he had lived in this city. He is survived by his widow and a daughter, Miss Edith Austin.
