Political batteries are warming up| for the most spirited siege of presi- dential campaigning via the radio in| history. In Washington representatives of the | two nation-wide networks and of Sta- tion WGN in Chicago have made defi- nite arrangements for the broadcasting of running accounts of the Republican National Convention, to be held in Chi- cago's Coliseum in June. The same arrangements, it is expected, will apply to the Democratic convention, to be held at the same place later that month. While the radio campaign already has actually begun, it has _been on broad national issues and not on can- didates themselves, The real cam- paigning, of course, will not occur until after the candidates are nominated. Then the networks and many inde- pendent stations the country over mll: carry nightly schedules of pO]l(h’nl talks, most of which likely will be paid| for by the parties themselves. Next | November it is certain that voters will g0 to the polls with the voices of the Republican and Democratic candidates ringing in their ears, for the radio battle will not stop until the polls are thrown open.
