DULL TRADE IN JAPAN IS LAID TO POLITICS By the Associated Press. A report to the Commerce Depart- ment says it is generally expected that trade in Japan will be dull until after the general election the latter part of next month. Fluctuating exchange is causing con- cern to importers and exporters, but it | is rumored that the government is in- vestigating methods to bring about stabilization. Security prices have increased on the Stock Exchange and the market is now steady. Government steel prices have ad- vanced from 7 to 11 yen per ton. The Yokohama Specie Bank is ship- ping to the United States gold to the value of 10,000,000 yen and an addi- tional 26,000,000 yen is expected to be shipped later this month, although no license has been obtained as yet for the shipment. The cabinet requests that imperial ordinances be issued authorizing an appropriation for the Manchurian ex- pedition, continuation of the gold em- bargo and reduction in the amount allotted from revenue for the sinking fund for government bonds.
