HIGAEFELLR, R, 15 LATE FOR COLF Bood Shot From First Tee, However, Compensates for 15-Minute Tardiness. By the Associated Press ORMOND, Fla., November 20.—John D. Rockefeller, sr., was 15 minutes late geiting to his appointment for his first goll game of the season here yesterday, bu. he made up for it by getting a good | shot from the first tee and holing out the par 4 hole in a 5. Mi. Rockefeller's drive from the tee neited him a good 125 yards, giving him 8 good lie at the top of a knoll, while his youthful partner was compelled to take an extutshoz to get a slight ad- wvantage in distance. H‘:dg Mr. Rockefeler not sliced his brassie shot he woud have made par for the hoie. His usual score is a 6. The new greens of the course were soft, s0 Mr. Rockefeller and his partner holed out in their caps at the edge of the greens. What happened during the rest of the match only Mr. Rockefeller, his pariner, Dr. George D. Owen, and the caddies can tell. After a brief chat with newspaper men Mr. Rockefeller shooed them away. No, please,” he told the scribes. “Wait, wait—till we grow up thrifty.” He did not enlarge on the remark As he spoke he drew on his gloves, & stained and worn pair, buttoning them carefully. Dr. Owen, his partner, is pastor of fhe Ormond Union Church. ' Lieut. Robert B. Dashiell, detached S. S. Tarbell; to U. 8. S. Antares as avigating officer, Lieut. (Junior Grade) A.
