Ths Interstate Commerce Commission | Wil hear oral arguments on September | 21 on the plea of the railroads for a 15 per cent increase in freight rates. | This was announced yesterday, the| commission moving to expedite decision in the case, although hearings still are ir; progress. The order also specified that attor- eys for both sides must submit their briefs not later than September 18. Five of the 11 commissioners now are sitting at two concurrent hear- ings in Chicago, which started Monday and are expected to end next week. The arguments will be heard by the full commission. 1t is believed they will last several days. A decision is expect- ed_in October.
