LYON VILLAGE, March 24 —William D. Medley was elected president of the Lyon Village Citizens’ Association at the annual meeting of the organization last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louls Carl on Granada Terrace. He succeeds Robert Freer, who declined to have his name placed in nomination. I. O. Buchanan was elected vice presi- dent; H. A. Dailey, secretary; Louis Carl, treasurer; Mrs, Ruth L. Medley, assistant secretary and Monroe Stockett and Arthur Clark, members of the Executive Committee, which also com- prises the elective officers. Resolutions favoring the opening by the county of a direct connection with the new Arlington Memorial Bridge via Washington street, & proposal that has the indorsement of many other civic and commercial bodies of the L‘Dunt{. ‘was umanimously adopted by the meet- ing. %’he association also joined with other civic bodies of the lower part of the county in asking the board of super- visors to take steps necessary to pro- vide a county road connection with the new Mount Vernon Bouievard in Jeffer- son district. Following announcement that the board plans to make a big out- lay for the widening of Fragier avenue in Jefferson district, it was decided to ask that this action be reconsidered and the money used in making the boule- ward connection. 1t was reported that Marcey Broth- ers Dairy had purchased a lot adjoining its place of business, which it proposed to use in expansion of its plant. The lot in question was said to be in a sec- tion zoned as residential and that the company plans to have the ground re- zoned commercial. The meeting went on record o] such & change in the zoning ordinance. WOMAN FREED AFTER “READING RIOT ACT” West Virginia Town Custom Is Cited by Person Tried on False Fire Alarm.
