Viscount Galway, who was aide-de- camp to Queen Victoria, 1897,1901; to King Edward, 1901-1910, and to King George, 1910-1920, was essentially a gentleman of the old schocl. He was a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford, obtaining his M. A. in 1866; was Conservative member for North Nottinghamshire, 1872-1885, and was colcnel commanding the Sherwood Rangers ffom 1882 to 1904.
