RARE DISE.ASE FATAL ‘White Corpuscles of Blood Destroy~ ed in Woman's Illness. EVANSTON, Iil, March D P)— Mrs. Nancy Hatton, 51, died last night in a hospital from a rare disease which destroys the white corpuscles of the blood. Mrs. Hatton, who was the wife of Prof. A. R. Hatton, head of the Po- litical Science Department of North- western University, had been ill several weeks. Prof. Hatton, a colleague and four students from his classes gave blood for transfusions. The infection resulted from an attack of trench mouth. PILOT HURT IN CRASH ‘William Thompson, 25, Nose-Dives in Plane at Seattle. SEATTLE, March 9 () —William ‘Thompson, 25, Transport pilot, was car- ried unconscious from the wre of his plane in a siough late yesterday by G. : Johnson, railway telegraph op- erator, Spectators said the motor stalled and the machine went into a nose dive, Johnson, who saw the accident from & railway tower nearby, bore the injured aviator out on his shoulders. Mill girls of Lancashire, England, who are on the dole must accept offers of work as servants in private homes or lose thelr unemployment benefit. This decision of the official umpire has thrown a bomb among the girls. They had been enjoying the dole since the Great Harwood Court of Referees had ruled that the mill girls were justified in refusing domestic service at Black- pool because there were workless girls with domestic experience Ii hearer.
