By the Associated Pres: ROME, February 5.—Police announc- ed today that they had frustrated, with the arrest of Michele Schirru, a plan for a series of acts of political terror- ism. Schirru's arrest Tuesday night after a gun fight gave rise to rumors there had been an attempt, or a plan for an attempt, on the life of Premier Mus- | solini. This was vigorously denied by the authorities. According to the police version, Schirru drew a revolver while being | searched at the police station. He fired ! a number of shots which wounded three policemen, one seriously, and then turned the gun on himself inflicting a severe wound in the mouth. A search of two rooms which Schirru had occupled in different hotels re- vealed two high explosive' bombs ar- ranged for use either as time or per- ciission explosives, police asserted. Schirru, who was born in Sardinia, had traveled extensively and was said to have been in the United States in March, 1930. His movements in many countries were watched closely by au- thorities. OKLAHOMA CITY, February 5.— Leaders of the Legislature sought today to determine whether an attack by Gov. W. I am not afraid of impeach- “If the teachers defeat this bill ITl start a move next year to cut down their salaries,” he said. “I'll dare them to pass a resolution condemning it.” He warned House and Senate that if they passed a pending bill providing 8 or 10 assistant attorneys general he would veto it. MRS.HENDERSON'S KIN WILL CONFER HERE! Nephew and Niece Expected From New York in Controversy Over Her Estate. Henry and Frances Arnold of New York, said to be the closest blood rela- tives of Mrs. John B. Henderson, were expected to take a hand today in the disturbed affairs of the Henderson es- tate growing out of the suit to prevent Mrs. Henderson from giving her new home to the Government. The Arnolds, nephew and niece of Mrs. Henderson, were due to arrive here today for the purpue of consulting with their venerable aunt and her attorney, George Edelin. Mrs. Henderson is pre- paring to defend herself against the charges of Mrs. Beatrice Henderson Wholean, her foster granddaughter, that she is too ill to manage business matters connected with her estate.
