WESTMINSTER, Md., January 23— Newell L. Fitze, 42, of Emmitsburg, was killed Wednesday afternoon when the truck he was driving left the road and | struck_an electric light pole on the| State highway about five miles south of here. The pole was broken by the force of the impact. Fitze, who was on his way to Balti- more with a_truckload of poultry and other farm products, was found dead behind the steering wheel of the ma- chine by Leo Warner, a deputy sheriff | of Carroll County. Dr. W. G. Speiker of Westminster said that Fitze's neck was broken and that he also had received internal in- jures. State's Attorney Theodore F. Brown deemed an inquest unnecessary.
