Election of officers and speeches by prominent barristers featured the con- cluding session of the 1930 national convention of Phi Beta Gamma Legal Fraternity, convening in biennial con- ference at the Wardman Park Hotel. John Paul Jones of this city was elected supreme chief justice, following his successful negotiation of the con- vention program. Other officers are ‘William F. Martin of Washington, su- preme associate justice; Adolph W. Herrmann of New Orleans, La., tu- preme clerk; Maurice Riecke of Minne- apolis, supreme bailiff; Arthur Erick- | son of St. Paul, supreme historian, and Marion Newbold of Louisville, Ky, su- preme marshal. Convening early Friday morning un- der the direction of Gerhardt M. Bund- lie, mayor of St. Paul, Minn., supreme chief justice of the fraternity, the con- vention recessed to journey to the White House, where photographs were taken with President Hoover. Business ses- sions were resumed anud & formal ball attended by national officers, official delegates and members of the three local chapters of the fraternity culmi- | nated the first day's activities. Speakers at the banquet closing the convention included Justice Charles H.
