The opening of the new Shoreham Hotel, as it stepped into the shoes of the old Shoreham which was within the stone’s throw of the White House and for years Washington's favorite hos- telry for brilliant social evenings, but which was razed by the wheel of prog- ress, lived up to tradition and brought together last night representatives of all branches of Washington society. There was a famous “crooner” and a clever Broadway revue and a famous motion picture star, each giving a splendid program.
