In the presence of ®n audience of approximately 1,200 the new Sacred Hear} Parochial School, located in the 1600 block of Park road, was dedicated last night by Most Rev. Michael J. Curley, Archbishop of Baltimore. In an address to the assemblage, Archbishop Curley pointed to the new school as an example of what Cath- olicism. is doing in America. He made a plea to the congregation to support the church and school. Stressing the importance of the link between education and religion, the archbishop declared that religion in education is essential if the Nation would be saved from the ever-increas- ing volume of crime. He declared the growing neglect of the marriage ‘bond i | was largely responsible for lax morals in the country. Tribute was paid to the sisters of the Sacred Heart parish for the fine work they have been doing. The archbishop declared that more than half of the work of the Catholic Church lies with the sisters. Catholic church dignitaries present at the dedication included Dr. William J. Kerby of Catholic University, Very Rev. Ignatius Smith, Catholic University: Mgr. Eugene Connelly of St. Peter's Church, Mgr. C. F. Thomas of St. Pat- rick’s Church, Mgr. George B. Barring- ton of St. Stephen’s Church and Mgr. Harry Quinn, secretary to Archbishop Curley.
