NEW YORK, October 13 (N.AN.A.) Some of the sophisticated radio “talent’ in this city apparently assume that radio audiences don't read, because they have been rehashing on the air a few articles of theirs that appeared in Again this year the soprano debut Mst for Carnegie Hall will be low and there's one improvement in life for which radio deserves credit. Time was when young, misguided sopranos put on pretentious concerts there and made their friends and relatives miserable. Radio has made concert singing more difficult and at the same time given unity to voices lovely though t, which had no chance in concert. The radio studio has its own intri- cate system of silent signals. Prantic working of the jaw mea ‘That £o- prano's diction is terrible. NEW YORK, October 13 (N.AN.A).— From the heights of Hoboken on the Hudson the president of Stevens Insti- tute, Dr. Harvey N. Davis, keeps a technical eye on New York's smoke. He tells the students that industry must be more id-alistic and as a member of a committee on the smok= nuisance he seeks to keep the city’s sky clear from soot and murk, whether dcmestic or industrial.
