Labor day messages of William Green, president of the American Federation of Labor, and Frank Morrison, secre- tary, give a holiday touch to the pro- gram today of WRC and other National Broadcasting Co. stations. Mr, Green's address will be broad- cast at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the New York State Fair Grounds at Syracuse. The message of Mr. Morri- ron will come from Perry Hall Inn, five miles north of Baltimore, from 9 to 9:30 o'clock tonight. In addition to the addresses of these two labor leaders, WRC also will broad- cast a talk by Senator Tom Connally of Texas during the series known as “Half Hours in the Nation's Capital. “Spokesman Fess and the Grundy Ta- riffi” is Senator Connally's topic. He will speak under the auspices of the Democratic National Committee. Musical Numbers Scheduled. ‘The usual array of musical attrac- tions make up the remainder of WRC's evening program. These include the A. & P. Gypsies, the General Motors “family party,” the “Sign of the Shell” broadcast and “Roxy’s Gang.' ‘The highlight of the Gypsies’ concert will be the overture to “If I Were King.” The quartet selections include unique arrangement of the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” “Barcarolle” and “The Song Without a Name.” The Brigadiers' Quartet and Frank Black's Orchestra, with Elliott Shaw, baritone, as soloist, will present a va- ried program of popular and semi classical numbers in the “family party.’ For his solo Shaw will sing ‘Want ‘What I Want When I Want It.” The orchestral specialty will be a new ar- rangement of "Amour, * Toujours L'Amour.” ‘Wendell Hall will sing a-medley of Southern songs in the Sign of the Shell program.
