Jo-eph Beetham, pioneer telephone , died yesterday at his residence, Mlfl "Fourteenth street, after an iliness of two months. He was 62 years old. Mr. Beetham, a native of Michigan, entered the telephone business, then in its infancy, in 1887. After a long service with the Bell Telephone Co. of Canada he became connected, in 1902, with the Chesapeake & Potomac Co. here. He was a member of the Pio- neers, the organization of veteran tele- phone employes. . Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary A. Beetham, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hilda M. Gonard.
