Hays, started conferring with German sound film interests in mid-June and reached an agreement July 12 which had to be submitted to the German ministry of the interior. These interests seek world-wide development of the talking motion picture industry.” Mr. Hays will sail for America tomor- row on the Ile de France. MOTHER AND 2 CHILDREN DIE AS CAR QUITS BRIDGE Auto Skids on Wet Flooring, Crash- ing Through Railing, and Falls 80 Feet Into River. By the Associated Press. CHARLESTON, W. Va., July 23.—An automobile broke through the railing on the Kanawha City Bridge yesterday and carried a mother and two small children to their death in the Kanawha River 80 feet below. The dead are: Mrs. Eva Hupp, 28, Coal Fork, and her two children, Alice, 8, and James, 6. ‘Witnesses to the accident said the wet condition of the bridge floor imme- ately after a rainstorm caused the car to skid. It swept up on the sidewalk at one side of the bridge and through the steel railing. It was necessary to drag the car near the shore with ropes before the bodies of the woman and boy could be extri- cated.
