If It's Smart—If It's New The Palais Royal Has It! - I have just returned from New York, and it is good to be back again —good, too, to be back at the Palais Royal, and to have an opportunity to talk to old friends and customers :ccnionully, through the column ere. Of course I spent most of my time in New York just seeing clothes, for that is the subject uppers most in the minds of women and young moderns at the present time. Printed chiffons are first and fore- most in all the best New York stores. Sleeveless, with capes or boleros of the chiffon, or smart little jackets of vel- vet or satin. Shantung, both plain and printed or a combination of both, is the ma- terial featured in most of the sport dresses; with flat crepes and wash silks extremely popular. A And the bags to match Summer frocks have never | been lovelier. There are embroidered linen bags in pastel shades — stitched moire bags, leather in the flower tints, and even bags of soft felt. There’s an infinite variety, and not at all expensive. They do give the complete touch to a costume. Hats, too, seem to be more summery than ever before— and practical as well as pretty.
