C—8 THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, DONALDSON' HTS T0 BE BROALEAST Julia Sanderson and Frank{ Crumit to Feature Black- stone Program. ‘Walter Donaldson, composer of many ®f the country’s most famous song hits, will be honored by Julia Sanderson end Frank Crumit in their program during the Blackstone presentation to- night over WMAL and a network of other C. B. S. stations. “Lazy Louisiana Moon,” Donaldson's Jatest composition, will be sung by Miss Banderson as her principal solo. Her, duet numbers with Crumit will be Want to Go Where You Go,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz” and “Swingin’ Down the Lane.” “Bunk and Bunkers" is the title of the Graybar “Mr. and Mrs.” sketch. It has a moral, “Never play golf with your wife.” Ted Weems has woven into his pop- wmlar dance program a group of selec- tions introduced by him in the Middle ‘West long before they achieved gen- eral recognition. Among them are “The Man From the South,” “Har- mmonica Harry,” “Atta Boy” and “Col- legiate Love. Chick Ednor, character imperson- ator, and Freddie 'Rich's Orchestra, wssisted by several soloists, will pro- vide the third of the series of Mardi Gras programs. It is made up chiefly of new melodies. A late_dance program by the Le Paradis Band and concerts by the Harmonious Quartet and Rice's Orches- tra are' outstanding among WMAL's attractions of local origin. In addi- tion, there will be a talk by H. S. McConnell, associate entomologist of the University of Maryland, on the control of insect pests. His subject is *Holding the Insect Line.” Ttalian Melodies on WRC. A potpourri of Italian melodies, ar- ranged by Frank Black, will feature the program of the Happy Wonder Bakers over WRC and associated N. B. C. stations. Phil Dewey, baritone, will be the soloist. He will sing “I Never Dreamt,” from “Will o' the ‘The Eveready hour will be devoted fo the latest hits from Broadway, played by Nathaniel Shilkret’s Orchestra. “Sweeping the Clouds Away,” “Raga- mufiin_ Romeo” and “On_the Sunny Bide of the Street” are the principal fumbers. ‘The Radio-Keith-Orpheum hour and & 15-minute program of songs by Peter de Rose and May Singhi Breen are among WRC'’s other major attractions. COURT ORDER HITS BALTIMORE STATION WCBM Is Restrained From Broad- casting on Its Present Wave Length of 1,210 Kilocycles. Special Dispatch to The Star. BALTIMORE, May 27.—Judge Soper i United States District Court has signed an order restraining Station ‘WCBM, owned by the Baltimore Broad- easting Corporation, from broadcasting on its present wave length of 1,210 kilocycles. The order will not expire until June 3. ‘The writ was signed at the request of the Baltimore Radio Show, Inc., Operators of Station WFBR. That cor- mflm recently filed suit against the Radio Commission and the Baltimore Broadcasting Corporation @fter the commission had assigned ‘WCBM a new wave length. Owners of WFBR complained to the Supreme Court of the District of Co- lumbia that WCBM's new wave length Wterfered with WFBR's broadcasts. SUMNER APPOINTED TO POST AT AMERICAN U. Long-Time Manager of Govern- ment Hotels Blames Director for Food Service and Dormitories. Mrs. Sarah E. Sumner, general man- Bger of the Government Hotels for 10 ielm, has been appointed director of lood service and dormitories of Amer- ican University, it was announced yes- terday by Dr. Lucius C.
