By the Assoclated Press. ATLANTA, Ga., April 1.—The newest vitamin, G, will be explained by chem- ists at the American Chemical Soclety meeting here April 7 to 11. It is chemistry's latest discovery in the diet line, so new that its values have not been agreed upon yet by the medical profession. The chemists will undertake to show its existence, source and some of its health-making powers. Some of the sources will be detailed by Paul L. Day of Columbia University. 35¢| | See Us About | Developing and Printing| | PTICAL | | OPTIC COMPANY] | 4 614 oth | | Hosiery Trouble Ends When Stelos Mends Runs reknit_and smags removed. Sherman of Columbia and Anne Bourquin, research assistant, will tell how they have been able to measure the vitamin G values of vari- ous foods. They wi!! describe animals took on weight and showed growth apparently due to the new vitamin. Miss Hazel E. Munsell of the De- partment of Agriculture, Washington, will tell how a vitamin G diet can be prepared outside of a laboratory. Other vitamin G research will be reported by N. B. Guerrant, professor of chemistry of Oklahoma A. and M., and by W. D. Salmon of the Alabama Experiment | Station New Light on Pellagra. Some new information on pellagra, indicating that many persons not con- sidered victims, really suffer from mild- er forms of the disease, will be present- |ed. The chemists hold that pellagra is a diet disease, due to improper amounts of vitamin G. The first announcement of a vitamin effective against pellagra was made in 1927 by _the late Dr. Joseph Goldberger of the United States Hygienic Labora- . He called it vitamin P-P and demonstrated that proper diet cures this often fatal disease. CIRCUS FOLK PREFER ROAD TO BROADWAY Coliseum in Bronx Not So Satis- factory to Performers as the Big Tops, They Say, NEW YORK (NA )—People of the theater usually prefer Broadway to “Main street” and don't like to quit New York and take to the road. It's the other way with most of lh“.reoplz in the eircus, according to seve: in what's billed as “The Greatest Show on_ Earth.” The circus is now housed in the Coliseum in the borough of the Bronx, and shortly it will come on down to Madison Square Garden. Only after the New York season will the circus :xfi‘w the tent and to life in a railway 8 “You might think that we would like it better in a hotel and in a big build- ing,” said a female contortionist born in a show in Australia, “but we don't.
