He ex- pressed the opinion, however, that Mc- Carron was not in condition to drive an_automobile at that time. Capt. William G. Stott of the third precinct, one of the trial board mem- bers, asked whether anything was found in McCarron’s automobile. Lieut. Sullivan said that two bottles containing a liquid were found. “What was the liquid,” Capt Stott asked. “I don't kmow.” “What was done with them?” “They were sent somewhere to be analyzed and I have not seen them nor had a report on them since.” “Well I want to know what was in those bottles because I'm very anxious to find out whether McCarron’s condition was caused by intoxicants or some Chi- nese concoction.” John B. Ballinger, eyewitness to the collision, said that the headlights on McCarron’s automobile were not burn- ing when he struck the parked car.
