Patrick Brennan, S. J., Succumbs Suddenly at Age of 85. Rev. Patrick Brennan, S. Next year Father Brennan would have celebrated the diamond anniver- sary of his entrance into the Jesuit order and his golden anniversary as a priest, Father Brennan had an eventful career. Born in Ireland, he went to Ohio when a boy. At the outbreak of the Civil War he joined the Ohio volunteers as drummer boy. Following the Civil War he entered Georgetown University and was grad- uated in medicine. Later he decided to enter the Jesuit order. Pastor in Providence. Subsequently, he served as tor in Providence, R. I, and was for many years stationed at St. Thomas’ parish, | Charles County, Md. He also was for 2 number of years at Holy Cross Col- | lege. Worcester, Mass., serving for a time as vice president. He had been | stationed in this city for the past 15 years. Father Brennan received a monthiy pension from the Government for Wis services in the Civil War and was con- tributing the money thus received for the establishment of a burse for the education of a priest.
