Although peonies this year are run- ning nearly 10 days ahead of their blossoming season in this section, en- tries promised for the annual exhibit of the American Peony Society, which will be held next week at the Willard in conjunction with the American Hor- ticultural Society, assure the largest collection of these flowers ever shown. In the professional classes the num- | ber will be approximately four times | that in previous shows, according to Dr. E. B. White, in charge of exhibits. One grower alone has entered 450 va- rieties, including some never before exhibited, wnicn mark striking ad-. vances in the art of peony culture, In the novice and amateur classes there will be about twice as many as in pre- vious exhibits. Stored Peonles Doing Well. Local growers with choice peonies, Dr. White said, should lose no time in cutting the buds and placing them in cold storage at the Terminal Re- frigerating Co., Eleventh and E streets southwest. The revival of the flowers after a long 'pel'lnd in storage is always something of a gamble, but all stored thus far seem to be doing well. ‘The exhibit this year will prove an | especial attraction for rose growers, e s e 8 OPEN A CHARGE ACCOUNT FINE MEN'S WEAR EISEMAN'S—7th & F | says Prof. David Lumsden of the De- partment of Agriculture, in charge of special exhibits, because of the ex- hibits of the three largest commercial rose growers in the East, Conrad & Pyle of West Grove, Pa.;, Henry F. & Atkins of Rutherford, N.
