The baccalaureate sermon to the 244 members of the graduating class will be given by Capt. Sydney K. Evans, chaplain of the Naval Academy, at the 10:45 o'clock services Sunday morning. Band concerts in the afternoon and night and a full dress parade at 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon will feature Monday's program. One of the most colorful features of June week will take place Tuesday afternoon when the colors will be pre- sented to the company in the regiment of Midshipmen that wins the honors in competitive drills and athletic events. The Midshipman commander of the winning company will name a girl who will present the colors on Worden Field in the presence of the entire regiment, Secretary of the Navy Charles Francis Adams, Rear Admiral S. S. Robison, superintendent of the academy, and the several thousand June week visitors. Garden Party Tuesday. ‘The annual garden party given by the superintendent of the academy to the members of the graduating class will be held Tuesday night. At the same time members of the second class will hold their annual ring dance in Mahan Hall. The girls will place the class rings on the fingers of the second classmen at that dance. The prizes won for the scholastic and athletic work will be presented to the winners by Secretary Adams at the full-dress parade, at 5:30 o’clock, on the afternoon of June 5. The farewell hop will be staged in the armory that eve- ning. The graduating exercises will be held at 10:30 o'clock on the morning of June 6. Secretary Adams will preside. Im- mediately after the exercises the mem- bers of the class, who will receive com- missions as ensigns in the Navy or ' second lieutenants in the Marine Corps, will be given their commissions in Ban- croft Hall by Secretary Adams. ARLINGTON COUNTY HOUSE, Va, May 29 —Stating that they were without authority to act where there is a distance of more than 300 feet bstween the nearest business house and the one for which the permit is asked, the Arlington County Zoning Commission last night refused to ren- der a decision on the application of Walter Sealock to erect an ice depot at Columbia pike and Fox road, Arlington. ‘The matter first came before the com. mission Monday night, when State Sen- ator Frank L. Ball, Sealock’s attorney, appeared with him to ask that the per- mit be granted, stating that Sealock had already signed a lease for the prop- erty. ‘There is at present an ordinance to the effect that the zoming commission cannot act on an application where the distance is more than 300 feet unless there is presented to them the written consent of at least 75 per cent of the adjacent property owners.
