HOOVER paid a visit to] M the Mayflower late yesterday the small daughter of Lieut.| Comdr. and Mrs. Joel T. Boone entertained about 60 of her small friends. Dr. Boone is physician to the President. Before going to the Mayflower, Mrs. Hoover received a few out-of-town guests, German Ambassador Being Entertained at Florida Resorts. The Ambassador of Germany and | Frau von Prittwitz und Gaffron, who have been at Palm Beach for several days, motored yesterday to Miami as the guests of Mr. Albert W. Partak, editor of the Deutsches Echo. Ac- companying the Ambassador and Frau von Priftwitz und Gaffron were the sec- retary of the embassy, Herr Johann Lohmann, and Mr. and Mrs, S. G. ‘Wierick of Hamburg and Palm Beach. The Ambassador nd his party were honor guests at tea yesterday at the Round Table Grille. In the receiving line were Maj. Everest George Sewell of Miami and Mrs. Sewell, Mr. and Mrs. George von Polenz, Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Carpentier and Mr. Adolph Stahl, all of Berlin. The Attorney General and Mrs. Wil- liam D. Mitcheil have given their names o the Metropolitan Opera committee as patrons of the forthcoming season of grand opera to take place in Wash- ington at Poli's Theater April 17, 18 and 20. The Secretary of the Navy and Mrs. Charles Francis Adams are also an- nounced as opera patrons of the new administration that includes the Vice President and the Secretary of War and Mrs. Good. Senator Copeland will join them on Tuesday. The United States Ambassador to Belgium, Mr. Hugh 8. Gibson, who has been the guest of President and Mrs. Hoover in the White House, will sail tonight aboard, the Ile de France for post. Among the other passengers will be the former Secretary of State and Mrs. Frank B. Kellogg, who gave up their apartment in the Mayflower today and have gone to New York to sail for a brief vacation in Europe. ‘The attache of the British embassy and Mrs. Harold H. Sims went to New York yesterday and are at the Hotel Ambassador for the Easter season. ‘The new counselor of the Czecho- slovak legation, M. Jan Skalicky, has arrived in Washington to take up his duties and with Mme. Skalicky is occu- pying an apartment in the Wardman Park Hotel. Invitations have been received in Washington to the marriage of Miss Margaret Lockett, daughter of Mrs. A. P. Lockett of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mr. Philip Wilson Bonsal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bonsal of Washington and Bedford, N. Y. The wedding will take place April 10 and Mr. Bonsal and his bride will leave immediately for a tour of South America. Somerville-Bradford Wedding in Chevy Chase Church Today. The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Hughes Bradford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Dennison Bradford, to 27r. Thomas Somerville, 3d, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Somerville, took place at noon today in the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, the Rev. J. Hill- man Hollister officlating, assisted by the Rev. Miss Virgina Blackistone was brides- maid, wearing an orchid chiffon frock, a picture hat to match and carrying orchid sweetpeas and yellow roses. Mr. Andrew Jackson Somerville was best man and the ushers were Mr. Har- rison Somerville and Mr. J. C. Harding. Mrs. Bradford, mother of the bride, wore & gown of chiffon in two tones of tan, and Mrs. Somerville, mother of the bridegroom, was in black satin. After a wedding breakfast for the families and wedding party at the Ken- wood Club, Mr. Somerville and his bride left for a wedding trip, Mrs, Somerville wearing a purple and gray ensemble. Mr. Somerville and his bride will make their home at Cham- berlin avenue and Brookside drive, Ken- wood, Md. Mr, and Mrs. Somerville are grad- uates of the George Washington Uni- versity, Mr. Somerville, a member of the Delta Lau Delta Fraternity and the bride is a member of the Gamma Beta Pi and Hour Glass Sororities.
