The injured woman was treated at Casualty for shock and bruises, THOM IS NOMINATED BY CITIZENS’ GROUP Named Candidate for Advisory Council Post by Devonshire Downs Association. Alfred P. Thom, general counsel of the Association of Railway Executives and a past president of the American Bar Association, was numinated by the Devonshire Downs Citizens’ Associa- tion last night to be a candidate for the advisory council of the Federation of Citizens’ Associations. The federation will elect six advisory councilmen April 6 Mr. Thom was named to a committee charged with co: Ting a House bill under which the District Commissioners would have authority to close streets under certain conditions. The bill was discussed with especial reference to Van Ness street, adjacent to the Bureau of Standards, and it was the opinion of members that under the wording of the bill the Commissioners would be em- powered to close the street.
