RENO DIVORCE HELD VOID IN QUEBEC COURT RULING 8econd Wife Now Charges Man Guilty of Bigamy by Marrying "Her Without Eegal Decree. By the Associated Press. MONTREAL, Quebec, February 13.— The second marriage of a man whose wife divorced him in Reno, Nev, has been declared null and without effect under the laws of Quebec. The Superior Court has ruled that Assad Karel Eddy, alias Joseph Canille, ‘was not really married the second time he took his vows. Eddy was married to Mary Sayre in Moncton, N. B, and in 1909 his wife established residence in Reno and was granted a decree. Later, Eddy married’| Zahu Barokett in Malone, N. Y. The couple sepurated and Eddy appealed to the civil courts here and was granted an annulment on the grounds that he already was married, and that the Reno divorce was obtained with a view of evading the Quebec laws. ‘This being established by the court, Eddy’s second wife now charges he committed bigamy when he married her. The case will go to the higher court for consideration. PRIVAGY FOR LOVERS.
