BOOTH MAY RENEW * BATILEN COURTS Daughter’s Statement Infers ' He Will Take Action if Again Deposed. By the Associated Press. H LONDON, February 5.—There were indications today that Gen. Bramwell Booth, commander-in-chief of the Sal- Vation Army, might carry his quarrel with the army's high council to the courts again if the council renews its eflorts to depose him. A statement by his daughter, Cath- erine Booth, that “the legal side of this situation has not ended,” s0 inter- preted by observers of the 3 Miss Booth was said by her secretary, Ensign Jackson, to have been warned by her solicitors not to discuss army affairs inasmuch as further litiga- tion might develop. 5 an uch further litiga- would arise only in the | er the high council has Gen. Booth or a repre- 1ld vote once more to de- pose him. The first deposition vote was invali- dated by the chancery courts because Gen. Booth had not been given an op- portunity to be heard. It was believed that in figl a second deposition order the Booth solicitors would attack the 1904 deed poll under which the high council has been operating. Meanwhile the offer of Lord David- son, former Archbishop of Canterbury, to mediate the differences between the army high council and Gen. Booth scemed fated to rejec The offer scussed at an inf al session of gh council yesterday but no an- ment was made as to the result era s. Nor was there a statement {ro h Hadley Wood as to the feeling there. But obscrvers of the army controversy feel there is an inclination to regard the affair as a purely domestic conflict requiring internal settlement.
