S50 CretTy’; Charming Nuptial Events Precede Advent of 1929 Church Weddings Included in List of Notable Matrimonial Alliances Scheduled in Closing Da ‘The marriage of Miss Edna Mildred Orr, daughter of Mr. John Walker Orr, to Mr. Joseph Michael Regan took place at the rectory of St. Joseph's Church last evening at 7 o'clock. Rev. Joseph T. Kennedy officiated. The bride wore a sapphire blue georgette gown with a small hat of sil- ver and blue, and carried a bouquet of Butterfly roses. Mrs. William Edison Burch was the bride’s only attendant, and wore a gown of beige georgette and lace, her hat being of gold braid and net. She car- ried pink roses. Mr. Timothy Regean acted as best man for his brother. After a_brief honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Regan will return to their home at 1202 Ken- yon street northwest. The marriage of Miss Madeline Marle Burleigh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Burleigh, to Mr. Edison Scrivener Triplette, son of Mrs. John Dolan of Brunswick, Md. took place Thursday_evening at 6 o'clock in the Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church, | Rev. Mark Depp officiating. An infor- mal reception for only close relatives followed the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents in the Cavalier. The bride was escorted to the altar | and given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of blue chiffon and transparent velvet, a hat and blue suede slippers to match, and a corsage bouquet of tea roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Florence Talley was the maid of honor, wearing a brown velvet gown with a brown felt hat and a corsage bouquet of yellow roses. Mr. John Hickerson of Rockville, was the best man. Mrs. Burleigh was in a gown of printed transparent velvet. After a wedding trip to Lodge, S. C. Mr. Triplette and his bride will be at home at the Cavalier. Sullenger—Anderson Wedding December 22. The marriage of Miss Nannie Louise Ancerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson of Delaplane, Va., to Mr. William E. Sullenger of Arlington, Ky., took place Saturday, December 22, in the Fifth Baptist Church, Rev. John E. Briggs officiating. The church had au effective arrangement of palms, and Mrs. Sadie Phelps sang “I Love You ‘Truly” before the ceremony. Mrs. M. K. Maggio played the wedding marches and accompanied Mrs. Phelps. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Mr. John Anderson, and she wore a gown of white moire taffeta, fashioned with a sleeveless bodice with a V neckline and a full skirt with a scalloped hemline, shorter at the front than in the back. Her tulle veil fell frcm a cap of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses and narcissus. Mrs. Francis Couzens of Clarendon, Va., was matron of honor, wearing a peach color taffeta gown trimmed with flowers to match, and she carried a bouquet of pink Killarney roses. The other attendants were Mrs. Lil- lian Schruhl, sister of the bride, who ‘wore a pink taffeta gown made Colonial style and carried pink roses, and Miss Beatrix Chappelle, formerly of Paris, Va.,, who was in a yellow taffeta gown and carried pink roses.
