The | breakage was facilitated by the neces- | sity to save weight, which imposed use | of light-weight wire equipment, and by | the complication of getting light-weight wires to carry sufficient electric current | without, risking sparks. ‘Two American cngineers, E. W. Beggs #nd A. B. McKenna of the Westinghouse Lamp Co., designed a new type of lamp for the return flight. It had an ex- tremely fine filament of extra toughness, special force of workmen was used o0 make the new lamps in tim antilever Shoe Sale At 58 Combining: Quality Appearance Comfort Economy 8 Styles of Cut-out Oxfords, Ties and Strap Pamps (Previously Priced at $9.50 to $12.50) NS ) E/ Reduced from 11.00 and 12.00 Black Kid or Tan Kid Reduced from 9.50 This Sale Closes Saturday CANTILEVER SHOE SHOP For Men, Women and Children 1319 F Street Seeend Floor—Over Young Men's Shop WRAPPING Half the pleasure of re- ceiving a gift is unwrapping it—and nine tenths of the trouble in sending gifis—is wrapping them.
