SCORE ARE HURT N ORPHANAGE RIOT Officials Subdue 20 Rebel- lious Youths After Fight in Dormitory. B the Associated Press. WAYNESBORO, Pa.. October 20.—A rebellion of 20 young men of the United Brethren Orphanage at Quincy, near here, last night resulted in injuries to the ant superintendent and music director and nearly all of the boys, all | between 17 and 18 years old. The outbreak., according to Rev. L. E. Buchart, assistant superintendent, bad been fomenting for several days. Last night the Rev. Mr. Buchart found the boys out of their dormitory he made the rounds. In the hallw: he met four of the leaders. who tol him they “were going to beat him up.” The assistant superintendent, how- ever, warded off their attack, and called for help. Ancther group of boys, in the basement then went to the dormitory | where they met Rev. Mr. Buchart. He tried to battle his way through them. Lawrence Shover. music director, came to his aid with a club and meanwhile the Waynesboro police were asked for assistance. In the fight on the stairs. nearly all of the boys were cut and bruised, two of them requiring treatment in the Waynesboro Hospital. ~ Shover was severely cut When otner officials of the school and the police arrived. Mr. Buchart and Shover had subdued the boys. Watchinsky also was charged with reckless driving and operating with dead tags. He pleaded guilty to both charges before Judge Robert E. Mat- | N tingly in Traffic Court and received fines totaling $55. The entire Watchinsky family was in | the automobile when Sergt. George M. Little's squadron started chasing them at Tenth and N streets. The pursuit led through several downtown streets and ended when the Watchinsky car was blocked by a truck on New York | R avenue between Sixth and Seventh.
