DL€, MAN 1§ INDICTED IN SLAYING CASE Held by Grand Jury After Woman Is Found Buried: and Companion Shot. By the Associated Press. | MUNFORDVILLE, Ky., September 28. —A true bill charging George Miller, | butcher, of Horse Cave, Ky., with mur- f der, in the alleged slaying of Miss Lula Kirchner, 40, a week ago, voted by a grand jury yesterday, was ready to- day to be returned to the Hart Count | Circuit Court. i The fact that ar indictment had been | voted against Miller was anno\mcrd‘ | here last night by Commonwealth’s At- | torney E. W. Creel of Hodgenville, who | | declared that the jury will confinum with the investigation of the death 0(} William Farris, 35, a companion of Miss Kirchner, who was found dying from ! a bullet wound the day before Miss | Kirchner’s body was discovered in a] shallow grave in the basement of a house in the Rollett community. Indictment of Miller is said to have | resulted largely from the testimony of Mrs. Mildred Martin, 29, who, with her husband, Garland Martin, 36, and Mil- | ler, were arrested on warrants charging \ murder, in the Kirchner case. Mrs. Martin is a sister of Farris. Following | bonds of $500 each. Farris’ body was found in the garden | of the Martin home. Prosecutor Creel declared the State is proceeding with the investigation on the theory that the two crimes were committed by the same person. HELD FOR GRAND JURY. Two Baltimore Colored Men Ar- raigned on Fraud Charge. Charles Brooks and Walter Rowe, with false pretenses, were held for the action of the grand jury under $2,000 bond by Judge Gus A. Schuldt in Police Court yesterday. The men are accused of oltaining $60 from Preston Rice, colored, giving his address as 1438 Belmont street, by means of the old pocketbook trick. They were arrested by Headquarters | Detective Paul Jones. Will Rogers Says: NEW YORK CITY.—The whole campaign has switched from Hoo- ver and Smith to Mrs, Willebrandt. Now I used to think that no one in the world could possibly make a poorer speech than some man politician, but after attend- ing both conven- tions and various dinners and pub- lic affairs, I have found that any woman politician can make a poor- er political speech than a man any time they try. I don't know why it is, but it just looks like the wrong women are in politics, for I Have heard other women on other subjects make brilliant speeches. I believe their cause would get further if they would just vote and not try to ex- plain publicly why. P. In history-making flights Lindbergh, Byrd, Goebel* and a host of others have established dramatically and conclusively the superiority and reliability of twin ignition, high compres- sion, valve-in-head motor performance. And all three principles are combined in the great new Nash Twin Ignition Motor which powers every Nash “400” Special and Ad- vanced Six model. The Nash Twin Ignition Motor, with two ignition coils instead of one, two spark plugs (airplane type) to each cylinder instead of one, 360 sparks a second instead of 180, at top speed, buras the highly compressed gases more thoroughly and economically. . The result is more power from less gasoline, and ordinary gasoline at that. No special, high priced fuels are required for the Twin Ignition Motor. Once you drive the great new Nash “400,” you are certain never to be contented with the performance of older types of motors.
